IN PRACTICE

What happens around a release?

With APIRecap

  1. Connect once. Add a publishing key to your CI or deployment workflow and point it at the project and API you want to update.
  2. Publish after deployment. Send the OpenAPI or Markdown file once production succeeds. The new document becomes current, while retained versions keep their own links.
  3. Explain the release. Review detected changes and approve a client-facing note. Confirmed subscribers receive an alert after that first approval.

With Mintlify

  1. Build a Mintlify site through Git Sync or its web editor.
  2. Publish documentation changes through the Git workflow, with branches and previews where your plan supports them.
  3. Readers can follow the public changelog RSS feed.

GO DEEPER

The differences that affect your decision.

01

Send the approved note without another email integration

Mintlify supports authored changelog pages and public RSS. Its guide describes turning that feed into email through an external integration. APIRecap includes confirmation and subscriber email after the first approval of a version note, so the client update stays with the release record.

02

Where Mintlify is a better fit

Choose Mintlify for a wider developer documentation site, visual editing, an API playground, custom domains or AI assistance. Starter already covers a broad public-docs experience; Pro adds automation and publishing tools.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you choose.

Can clients test calls in the docs?

Mintlify includes an API playground. APIRecap keeps its embedded reference read-only.

Can we keep our Mintlify site?

Yes. Send the OpenAPI or Markdown source to APIRecap for client release records and updates. APIRecap does not migrate a complete Mintlify site.

Does APIRecap check for production drift?

No. Your pipeline controls when the docs publish. Send the released document after deployment succeeds if it should describe the current production contract.
